Just outside Norrtälje we find this architect-designed villa in a rural and picturesque environment. Here, sheep graze as the nearest neighbor and create this unique contrast where industrial style security meets nature. The house is built with four used shipping containers. To make the containers habitable, they are insulated and weatherproof. The building functions as a sculpture in the landscape, but still blends in nicely with the rural surroundings. To complement the shapes and colors available in the local area, the containers on the top floor are clad in gray powder-coated metal sheets. While the lower part is covered by steel panels that can rust freely over time. The balcony upstairs is surrounded by steel beams that protect the interior from unwanted sunlight.
